Modern Podiatry (Mod Pod) is the podiatry division of Heartstride Health a premier foot and ankle practice serving babies, children, and adults across Griffin, McDonough, Newnan, and Riverdale, Georgia. Led by Dr. Kibibi Wanzu and a team of five board-certified podiatric physicians and foot and ankle surgeons, Mod Pod provides care for the full spectrum of foot and ankle conditions from routine visits to complex reconstructive surgery and diabetic limb salvage. Walk-ins and same-day appointments are welcome at every location.

Modern Podiatry was founded by Dr. Kibibi Wanzu with a clear purpose: to deliver exceptional foot and ankle care to communities across Georgia that deserve more than the standard of care they have been receiving. The practice has grown steadily over the years, and in the summer of 2025, expanded further through the merger of Crossroads Podiatry in Newnan bringing additional coverage to Coweta County and the surrounding communities.
Mod Pod is now part of Heartstride Health, joining the PACE cardiac and vascular division under one physician-owned group. For patients managing diabetes, peripheral arterial disease, or vascular complications affecting the lower extremities, this means their podiatrists and their vascular specialists now coordinate care directly the kind of integration that makes a genuine clinical difference
Every Mod Pod location has advanced technology on-site to perform minimally invasive procedures, including restorative cell therapy and limb salvage interventions. The team accepts most insurance plans and welcomes patients without referrals at all locations.

Diabetes damages blood vessels and nerves in the feet, increasing the risk of infections, non-healing wounds, and — without proper intervention — amputation. The Mod Pod team provides comprehensive diabetic foot care: regular monitoring, nail and skin management, wound treatment, and limb salvage for patients with advanced complications. For patients who also have peripheral arterial disease, the Mod Pod and PACE teams coordinate care directly.

Inflammation of the plantar fascia — the band of tissue running along the bottom of the foot — causes sharp heel pain that is often worst with the first steps of the morning or after periods of rest. Mod Pod treats plantar fasciitis with a range of options from conservative care to advanced injectables, tailored to the severity of each patient's condition.

Pain in the foot or ankle can stem from dozens of causes — structural, neurological, vascular, or traumatic. Mod Pod performs a thorough clinical evaluation, including imaging and vascular testing where appropriate, to identify the source and develop an effective treatment plan.

Fungal nail infections cause discoloration, thickening, and brittleness that can progress and spread without treatment. Mod Pod offers medical and procedural options for stubborn fungal infections.

A common and painful condition that can lead to infection if left untreated. Mod Pod provides in-office treatment and, where indicated, a permanent solution to prevent recurrence.

Mod Pod sees patients of all ages — including infants and children — for conditions such as flat feet, in-toeing, gait abnormalities, and sports-related foot and ankle injuries.

Acute and repetitive stress injuries affecting the foot and ankle — including sprains, stress fractures, tendonitis, and plantar fasciitis — are diagnosed and treated with a range of conservative and surgical options to get patients back to activity as quickly as possible.

Specialized management of non-healing foot and lower leg wounds — including diabetic ulcers, venous ulcers, and post-surgical wounds. The Mod Pod team uses advanced wound care protocols and, for patients with vascular compromise, coordinates directly with the PACE team to address the underlying circulatory cause.

Removal of arterial plaque using a catheter-based device — an effective alternative or complement to angioplasty for complex vascular lesions.

Catheter-based procedures to treat blockages in the coronary arteries, including percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) for patients with coronary artery disease or acute coronary syndromes.

Podiatric sports medicine for athletes at every level and for individuals with active lifestyles. Mod Pod treats both traumatic and repetitive injuries with a range of options including orthotics, corticosteroid injections, splinting and bracing, and surgical intervention when necessary.

Advanced injectable treatments — including corticosteroids and restorative cell therapy — for conditions including plantar fasciitis, arthritis, tendon injuries, and soft tissue pain. Restorative cell therapy uses the body's own healing factors to accelerate tissue repair, offering a regenerative option for patients seeking an alternative to surgery or steroid injections.

Precision-fabricated shoe inserts designed to correct biomechanical abnormalities, redistribute plantar pressure, and relieve pain from flat feet, plantar fasciitis, diabetic foot complications, and other structural conditions.

Routine and medical nail care — including treatment of ingrown toenails, fungal nails, corns, and calluses — for patients of all ages, including diabetic patients who require regular professional nail and skin management.

Five board-certified podiatric physicians — with backgrounds spanning reconstructive surgery, diabetic limb salvage, sports medicine, and venous disease — practicing together across four Georgia locations.

The care was excellent from the first visit. They explained my options clearly and helped me avoid surgery.
