For patients on hemodialysis, vascular access is a lifeline. The PACE Dialysis Access Center part of the vascular division of Heartstride Health provides office-based evaluation, maintenance, and minimally invasive intervention for AV fistulas, AV grafts, and dialysis catheters. When an access slows, clots, or fails, the PACE team restores function quickly, so treatment is never interrupted. Dialysis access services are available at every PACE cardiac and vascular location Newnan, Griffin, LaGrange, and Fayetteville.
A working fistula, graft, or catheter is what makes every dialysis session possible. Over time, nearly all access sites develop narrowing or clotting that reduces blood flow — and when an access fails, the consequences are immediate: missed treatments, emergency catheter placement, and hospital admissions that could have been avoided.
The PACE Dialysis Access Center exists to stay ahead of those failures. Using the same office-based interventional model as the rest of the practice, the team evaluates and treats access problems without hospital admission — often on the same day a problem is identified.
Dialysis catheters that flow poorly or are no longer needed. PACE manages catheter exchange, repositioning, and removal.

An imaging study of the access and its draining veins to identify narrowing, clot, or other problems the diagnostic foundation of nearly every access intervention.

Minimally invasive widening of narrowed segments within the fistula, graft, or central veins to restore healthy blood flow.

Placement of a stent in segments that re-narrow after angioplasty, holding the vessel open for durable, long-term access function.

Catheter-based removal of clot from a thrombosed fistula or graft — performed in the office, with priority scheduling so patients do not miss dialysis.

Ultrasound assessment of the arm veins and arteries before access creation, helping the surgical team plan the right access in the right location.

Full management of tunneled dialysis catheters, from placement when urgent access is needed to removal once a permanent access has matured.
The Dialysis Access Center is built to work the way nephrologists and dialysis units need it to: rapid scheduling for failing or clotted access, clear reporting after every procedure, and a team that treats a missed dialysis session as the emergency it is. Referred patients with thrombosed access receive priority same-day or next-day scheduling whenever possible.
If your dialysis sessions are running long, your access is bleeding longer than usual, or your care team has flagged a flow problem — don’t wait for a failure. The PACE Dialysis Access Center can evaluate and treat the problem before it interrupts your treatment.
